Another Poem (“just some silly old poem”) – on Solemness

Solemnness – pond’ring of the deeper things –
When they may alight upon the once sphere of –
Light-heartedness – like a Weary old, Curious buzzard
Drifting down to Rest its wings and –
Bewildered, muse at the soft Glow.

(second version):

Solemnness – pondering of the deeper things –
When That may alight upon the once busy span –
Where fireflies danced:
Like a Weary-old Curious buzzard –
That’s drifted down to Rest its wings and –
Bewildered, muse at the dusty Glow.

-written some time in 2015.

Today, now (6-1-18): I honestly don’t remember if I intended to write “once sphere” in the first version here; but it *sort of* seems poetic …? I am just going to keep it as-is. I don’t really like either version overall, but at the same time I think they are kind of neat/have a little bit of poetic merit. Here is an edited version of the second one, with more conventional punctuation.

Solemnness – pondering of the deeper things –
When That may alight upon the once-busy span,
Where fireflies danced:
Like a Weary-old Curious buzzard
That’s drifted down to Rest its wings and, bewildered –                                                       Muse at the dusty Glow.
